About The Author
When I was a small girl living in Berlin, Germany, my Grandfather gave me a puppet theatre. A year later my family sent me to England on a Kindertransport. I left both family, and theatre behind. At age seven I discovered that stories can travel with you wherever you go. I carry them with me: stories I make up, stories I’ve heard or read, stories that grow as I tell them or write them down. Each one may be told in a different way, as a poem or play, through song, movement, as a story or novels, or as non- fiction. When I grew up I became a teacher, then, worked in theatre for Young Audiences, writing and directing plays for professional actors to perform in schools all over Canada. Now I write in my home in Vancouver, B.C. close to water and mountains. |
