Classroom and library visits are important for authors, students and teachers: readings and discussions cover many topics including what inspired the book, the world of the story and research. Who will tell the story? What form will it take?
What do students have in common with characters from the past, and what differences do they notice? The role of the editor in making the book the best it can be.
Sessions are of one hour duration.
Workshops on a number of topics including, Writing through the Block, and Creating Narrative, involve students in the exploration of plot, dialogue, character and dramatic tension.
Duration: one to two hours.
Grade level 4-9: maximum number two classes for talks and not more than 25 -30 students for workshops.
